Crazy Stuff!

So.......I really need to scan some of our old pictures onto the computer, but that is FAR down on the list of priorities right now. However, I thought a few family members might get a kick out of this little one of Deaven, just shy of 1, after eating his first Oreo cookie. Love this little boy!

Despite the insane-ness of our life right now, we did creep in a Family Home Evening lesson this week.

I put a tub of vanilla ice cream on the table and told everyone we were going to make Sundaes, and that I had LOTS of toppings to choose from. I first brought out stuff like pieces of bread, chili, party mix and apple slices. All my kids love those, but of course didn't choose to put them on their sundae. Then I brought out the chocolate syrup, reeses peanut butter cups, sprinkles and reeses pieces, which they all partook of.

We then talk about the following:
1. Why didn't they put the stuff they like (like the chili) on their sundae? (because it wasn't the right fit)
2. Why didn't they choose to leave their ice cream with nothing? (well, that's not really a sundae).

Then........I explained that this was kind of like our SUNDAYS.

Heavenly Father has asked us to keep the Sabbath Day holy. There are certain things we choose not to do on a Sunday even though they are good things the rest of the week (like play dates, or shopping, etc).

We talked about how Sunday should be a special day when we only do things that bring us closer as a family and the Lord, especially because the rest of our six days of the week are so busy. Sundays are a great day to visit those who are lonely or sick, and to spend time as a family learning about more spiritual things.

We also mentioned that even though the Sabbath is suppose to be a day of rest, that we shouldn't just do nothing at all. That would be like not putting any toppings on our Sundaes. It's important to go to church are serve others, yet I think Sunday naps are the BEST part of Sundays and Heavenly Father thinks those are pretty important to. :)
Back to the craziness.......

The remodel of the restaurant is pretty much complete (Mahoney's, we love you!!) and we fired up the Grill last night for dinner. The customers had rave reviews, but the system is a little different and will keep Will busy with training for awhile. A few weeks out, I think we will be sitting pretty good, but right now, it's a little stressful.
Luckily for us, the sales have been booming, which is a blessing for sure. We had a staff meeting last night and here is a shot of just a few of our employees. We really have a WONDERFUL staff. Most of them have been with us over 3 years and some as long as 9.
In the midst of this, I am actually heading up to Seattle this weekend to compete for Racquetball. Kind of sucks that it ended up that the Grill just opened, but who would have known.

Unfortunately, due to some injuries and family issues, there is no Women's Open draw, which is the top level that I compete at.......which means I'll be playing the men this weekend. I would normally just pull out of the tournament, but I signed up for doubles with someone, and I don't want to be a flake.

I might get slaughtered, but I'll use it for "experience". There is a series of about 4 tournaments this spring that I am training for.

Blog to ya soon!
