First of all, I've gotten "Punked" a few times this week. I turn the big 3-0 tomorrow and Will surprised me Wednesday night when I got home from scouts with dinner at Hearth Fire Grill. He had already gotten the sitter and everything!! No pictures (seeing as I was totally shocked and looking a little "Den Motherish".
And then this morning, I went to my car to take the kids to school and Bonnie had left balloons and flowers for me. Funny story because she did this last night while we were in the hot tub and I THOUGHT I heard something.....but never did I think it was her!! Are those flowers crazy colors or what! Anyway, thanks for all the notes and phone calls I've been getting.....you all mean so much to me.But the party is just begining.......Will and I leave today to go compete at the State Racquetball Championships in Seattle, and then on Sunday we leave to go to a Condo with some of our best of friends at Discovery Bay until Tuesday! We are super excited!! Good pictures are coming for sure!
A little random here though. Over the holidays, several people asked for the Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe I use, because, well, it's the only thing I make that is AWESOME!! So here is the recipe (orginally I got it from Michelle Dillon):
Best-Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 C. butter
3/4 C sugar
1 C brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla (I do 2)
3 C flour
3/4 tsp salt
3/4 t baking soda
1 12oz bag of MILK chocolate chips
(I use 1 1/2 bags or cut the dough in half for 1 bag)
Cream butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Mix flour, salt and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture and beat. Stir in chips. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes.
The key is to pull the cookies out BEFORE they are totally cooked. Then they stay soft forever!!
I seriously made these at least 5 times in a two week period over Christmas Break. They are so good!! Enjoy!
