Camping Trip to Lake Chelan

We kicked off our summer with a camping trip to Lake Chelan with our friends the Mahoney's.  We love Chelan for the warm temps and the fun things to do (and the sheer fact that when you are camping, you don't HAVE to do anything!!).
Will likes a morning swim off the dock to wake up.

Will and I chillin' on the dock before breakfast.
The kids loved riding their bikes around the campground and for awhile we had no neighbors and they could ride through all the connecting sites.

It's a family tradition to go to Slidewaters for a day, where there are about 15 water slides.  Our kids love it because it's a relatively small park, so there are hardly any lines but tons of different slides.
We spent some time hanging out in the lazy river, too.
Peyton and Malorie taking a quick break to eat some snacks.
Morgan is a total fish and LOVES the water slides.

 The Hayes Herd all together!
Of course, every night we had a campfire and hung out.
 All the boys......
 Morgan being her typical self.
Peyton and Malorie working down on the beach, near our campsite.
Every evening the kids would go down to the water and play a game.

Deaven and Korban hanging out by the fire.
 Morgan working on her Smore.

The water at Chelan is so clear that while some of the kids actually fished, the others could actually LOOK for fish, lol!
 Everyone down on the dock.
There are some resident ducks, that Morgan named.
 Will working on a carving.

Deaven really loved fishing this trip.  He even caught two little guys.  :)

The girls playing by the stream near our campsite.

Will and I enjoying taking a break from working on our new home.
Part of our campsite (we had two sites together.  One with our two, large tents and the other for a hang out spot).
The first few days were sunny and hot but then it chilled off a bit.  Still plenty warm to hang out outside.
Dennese and I reading our books while the kids play.
We walked across the street to the Alpenhorn (where Will worked for a summer) and had some ice cream.
After 3 nights camping, we drove to Leavenworth to stay for a night.
We love hanging out the Mahoney's.  It's just see easy with all the kids falling in line with each others ages.
Morgan and Kelton at the chocolate shop.
After dinner we did some golfing.

 Well, it some-what resembled golfing.

My favorite part of staying the the Ensizn Hotel is the amazing breakfast and serenade they do each morning.  This guy helped build the hotel years ago and still plays at breakfast time every morning.

We also love this hotel because of the pools (indoor and outdoor) and it even has a Racquetball court.
Our kids were amazing on the drive.  It's so nice to have the kids getting a little older and being able to stretch out a little longer with out the constant potty and stretching breaks.  They were awesome!!

Morgan and Mom talking a snack break at the water park.
You can see the face Will is carving if you look closely.
Hanging out on the beach waiting for the clouds to burn off.
Me and my sweet Dennese.  I can't say enough about what this girl means to me.  Truly, she has changed my life.  I am so grateful to have her in the Parenting Trenches with me as we navigate this ever so important season of our lives in raising children.

It was an awesome trip!!  Everything we hoped for and a much needed break from our long haul in moving.  It was funny, too, because the last several trips we have done with the Mahoney's have required our kids to pack in with their gear on their backs.  When we explained that we were CAR camping, and what that meant, they were shocked (and happy).
