Deaven Turns 13!!

Deaven is making his way through another school year at Aspire.  It's a love-hate relationship for all of us, just because it's so rigorous, but we all agree that the benefits he is getting from being held to such a high standard even in middle school will pay off big time in the long run.
Here he is working on creating his own Mosiac piece of art for Social Studies.  I was proud of him because he did this all on his own.
Unbelievably, Deaven turned 13 this month.  He is such a great kid that keeps us laughing all the time.  He is smart, fun, witty yet has such a sweet, sensitive side to him.
Will watching the present opening will loving on Odie.  Odie is such a rag doll, lol!  We get to love on him like crazy and he just sits there (unless it's Morgan).
My two handsome men.  Deaven is sure growing up!
I started a new tradition with the kids at this house.  The family members secretly created a poster for Deaven with a bunch of things we love about him or things he does really well.  We taped it to his door for him to find on his birthday morning.  He took the time to read it all and it meant a lot to him.
In other news....our family enjoyed General Conference this month, too.  We all really love conference and it was such a great one!  We did our little "key words" treat activity, where they got to take candy if they heard certain words during a few of the talks.  Even Morgan said at the end of one......"Well, that was about 'family', 'happiness' and 'serving'.  Yay!!
