25 Firsts for Cheyenne

Another tag, sharing several of your "first" experiences. Should be another great one to help us all get to know each other better! (or too much)

1. First Car: Chevy Malibu, orange tank of a car. Gas needle didn't work and I pushed my car out of an intersection more than once.

2. First Date: Kevin Johnson at Olive Garden about a week after I turned 16.

3. First TV show you watched regularly: Little House on the Prairie, with a little Sesame Street thrown in there.

4. First defeat: I'm sure there were little ones at a young age, but the first one I remember having to "work through" was when I didn't make it my 7Th grade year to the Concert Choir. Devastating......but I did get pulled up later in the year.

5. First sport: I think I technically played t-ball in 2 grade or so, but my real love was gymnastics....though I got started late and didn't go very far. Still love that sport!

6. First time you felt the Spirit of God: Very clear memory of this. I was almost 9 years old, and was in the middle of watching Jesus of Nazareth with my family. During what I think was an ice cream break, I went to my bedroom and really prayed for the first time whether "all" this was true. Tears came so strongly....and then I remember being in the bathroom with my parents as they explained to me what I was feeling....Never looked back! ;)

7. First time you saw your husband: At an Izzy's Meeting in Salem....we worked for different stores.....it was a total, saw him across the room and was deeply intrigued. With in the year, I got asked to me his Assistant Manager for a store in Keizer...and the rest his history!

8. First job you claimed you wanted to do when you "grew up": Ummm....I don't really remember when I was young, but in High School, I wanted to be a motivation speaker, and then later a Children's Counselor. I job shawdowed a counselor and decided immediately I couldn't ever handle leaving my work at work.

9. First tape/CD I owned: Wow. I think it might have been Paula Abdul or Tiffany.

10. First memorable accomplishment: I made it to the city competition for the "Hoop Shoot" (shooting free throws) and a few JC relay teams, but my first more REAL accomplishment was when I made it to State for track my freshman-senior years in high school. I ran the 400 and 4X400 relay.

11. First interaction with Police: Well, my FIRST interaction I'm not going to share because it involves another family member and that's not fair (bet you are all wondering which one of my saintly family, huh?), but flying solo....my first interaction would be with a few friends at 15. We just went for a late night walk through a local park and a patrol officer came to check out that park after curfew. We ducked behind a bush, but the big scanning light landed on us and stopped. They got out of their car and we ran.

12. First exposure to death: Freshman year: One of my brother's close friends died in a car wreck on her way home from her boyfriend's house. She was such a great person, and an only child. It was a one car wreck into a tree and her Dad was the one to find her. That was followed exactly one week by one of my good friends dying of cancer. It was a rough few weeks.

13. First job: Besides babysitting, helping a school teacher with some yard work and correcting papers, and a little office cleaning of a friend's Dad's, my first really pay clock job was yes, Izzy's. Started in Salem at 17.

14. First embarrassing moment remembered: Looking back at pictures, I should have been embarrassed every day of my life, but as for a moment, again, this one involves another family member, so I'll keep that one to myself. Oh-I just thought of one. I went to lunch with my choir teacher in middle school (don't see that happening any more) and I was talking about something random. I started to choke on my food, but was trying to hide it. Tears started flowing down my cheeks. He thought I was crying....I was actually losing oxygen, but my pride kept me from asking for help. It was a close one!

15. First memory: I have random snip-its of memories, but for some reason, the earliest one I remember clearly was one time that Dakota (my older brother) and I were sent to our rooms. We created this "telephone" with string and two Dixi cups and ran it down the hall between our rooms and we were convinced it was actually working (maybe it was just me that was convinced). Random, huh? I was probably 5-7 years old.

16. First crush: That would definitely be Eric Bush in the first grade, but it lasted all the way through elementary school. He lived over 2 miles away, but a friend and I would walk there and then play tennis in front of his house on the street as if we just happened to be in the neighborhood. That is too funny!

17. First vacation: I mostly remember driving to California to visit both sets of grandparents and a bunch of cousins and other family. We loved to go where there were pools everywhere to swim!

18. First injury: Well, at about 6 or so, Dakota and I were playing Star Wars while playing in the sprinklers. Dakota took a wack at the water with a big long stick and also came in contact with my face/nose. That hurt and there was some blood, but unfortunately I can't blame my big nose on the injury! :)

19. First best friend: Alicia Hawkins....for several years. We were inseparable. Marathon sleepovers, play dates and so much fun. Loved that girl. Then Araya Parrish (Williams) moved in and we too had years of craziness.

20. First email you read this morning: From my dad, which is somewhat typical.

21. First thing you would do if you didn't have family obligations and money was no issue: Play on the Women's Pro tour for Racquetball.

22. First phone call you made this morning: About to call Dennese for some fun today hopefully!

23. First thing you typically do in the morning: Eat! I am a "where's the beef" kind of girl in the morning. Raisin Nut Bran!

24. First thought when you hear the word chocolate: Addiction.

25. First thing you'd change about yourself if it could be an immediate fix: That I would be less stubborn and learn to relax more with out feeling guilty I am not getting something down.

I have been DOUBLE Tagged from Amber and Libby!! I am combining the questions into one because they are similiar.

1. What was I doing 10 years ago?
Oh sheesh.....well, I was a few weeks away from meeting my husband. I was a manager at an Izzy's Restaurant in Salem, Oregon. Spending lots of time with Amber Gray (which warrents a whole other post :)), active in the Singles Ward and planning on heading to BYU Idaho (Ricks at the time) in the winter.

2.Things On My To Do list
To do lists......I love a to do list! Confession.....I sometimes add things to my to do list that I already did JUST to get the satifaction out of scratching it off!! Okay today my list is....1. Do about an hour of accounting for the restaurants we own. 2. Do the kid school shuffle (back and forth) 3. Work out with my dear friend Bonnie.....and it's gonna be a good one! 4. Promised a game of "Transformers Cards" with Deaven, my seven year old after school. 5. Kick off Valentine's week with Will!! (We celebrate most holidays in full weekends or weeks) 6. Hit a kid's birthday party tonight, work on Valentines for the kids, kitchen crew meeting at 8pm, work on a new talk I have been assigned at church, laundry, deposit at the bank, homework........blah, blah, you guys know the drill.

3. Bad Habits
Oh boy, how honest do I be and how much time do you all have??? Well, here's a few: I am very stubborn, which prevents me from trying and experiencing new things and opportunities sometimes. I have to constantly work on NOT putting too much on my plate, at the expense of my family members. I love sweat pants and a pony tail way too much......my poor husband.....that's a New Year's resolution. I am kind of a picky eater. But I have absolutely NO CONTROL when it comes to chocolate. I could down a bag of Oreos in one day.....seriously. I have eaten my children's candy, my husbands......it's really sad. I must be stopped. Okay, that's all the dirt I am giving right now!

4. Places I have Lived
Oh this is easy! Salem, Oregon......then Rexburg, Idaho.....the Everett, Washington.....and now Olympia, Washington.

5. Things Most People Don't Know About Me
Hmmm......I'm kind of a open book. Lets see.......Well, I am currently ranked in the top five in the state of Washington for Women's Racquetball and am sponsored by HEAD. I cry frequently about my children getting older. I actually love diapers, breastfeeding, everything.....but you probably know that if you have read my blog much. I am a self taught Accountant for our restuarants. I have played the piano for almost 25 years now. Not very exciting, but there's a few!
