Discovery Bay Trip!!

We went to Discovery Bay up near Port Townsend last weekend. Our good friends Jamee and Dennese Mahoney were kind enough to share their Time Share condo with our family.....making 4 adults and 6 kids under one roof. Amazingly, it went almost flawlessly, except Morgan trying to hitch-hike on Hwy 101.
Of course first up on the agenda was SWIM, SWIM, SWIM. We are pretty proud of these two little men that have become pretty proficient swimmers in the last year.
And the Ladies in Pink did pretty great too. Although I did end up in the pool once fully clothed not sure if Mallorie was okay or not.
Morgan in the week before the trip, fell in love with her life jacket, which was such blessing. She was so cute! She is so little you could probably have just blown up one arm floaty and put it around her waist.
This is my man in PERFECT CONTENT. Blanket over hear, balcony, view of water, good friends, Chicken Alfredo Pasta cooking for dinner.....Will's Heaven.
The four younger kids settling down for bed. We had these guys in bed every night by 9pm!!!
And our big boys. I think they could move out together today and be perfectly content. They never get sick of each other.
Monday we went for a gorgeous drive (did I mention it was 70+ degrees???) up towards Port Angeles to hit the Olympic Game Farm in Sequim, WA. Our first trip there, Mahoney's second.
We had SUCH a great time!! We spent close to 2 hours all crammed in the Suburban (yep, still 10 of us), feeding the animals and laughing our heads off!
It was crazy seeing all the amazing animals so closely and to interact with them.
Jamee.....oh, Jamee....felt a particular kinship with the Elk, and fed them OUT-OF-HIS-MOUTH. Don't worry, there is an actual video of this at the end of this post.
The pictures don't quite demonstrate how large the animals were. At times, we had 4 heads of bison inside the car, one through each window.
And let's just talk about their tongues for a minute.......oh my. Let's just say the car needed a serious cleaning afterwards.
Big shock here, Morgan wanted to play in the feeding cages. What is it with Morgan and cages!?
After lunch, we went GEO CASHING. Heard of that? I guess there are Geo Cashes all over the world, where people stash containers and then other people can visit them. We told the kids we were going on a treasure hunt. Jamee lead us in using his GPS. Once you find it, you sign the log book, take a "treasure" and replace one. Pretty cool!
We played lots of tennis at the condo too.
The boys loved it especially......good thing we got Deaven signed up for Tennis Camp this summer.
On our drive home day, we hit a beach in Potlach and just hung out for a few hours. The kids could have stayed FOREVER.
And we hit one more park in Shelton on the way in. I love this little smile on Morgan!
We had such a great time, though I am kicking myself that we never got a group shot of all of us. Bummer. Too busy having fun!
Thank you, thank you, thank you to the Mahoney's for their kind invite and hospitality....and did I mention that they took our two big kids up a day early too!? Talk about good friends! We love you!

And for your viewing pleasure.......Jamee and Will having some "bonding" time in the front seat of the Suburban with the animals. So much fun!!!
(PS-a few more pictures of the trip to come from the Mahoney's)

Oh my goodness, that Olympic game farm is hilarious!! Are they just tame? Wow, that made me laugh, thanks for the pictures! And how nice to have a family with kids that are similar ages to your kids. It's a new challenge finding couples that all four of us are friends. I bet adding kids into the mix is an even bigger challenge. I'm glad you guys had a good time!
