Family Hiking

Last weekend, we took the kids out for a short hike in the Olympic National Forest along the Skokomish River.
The kids just LOVE being outside and exploring a new trail.
Peyton is quite the little adventure girl. Having the kids in Gymnastics has done wonders for their endurance and leg strength.
In true NW fashion, there was some incredible "tree art".
After a few miles, we pushed over to the river to have lunch and chill for a bit.

Probably the coolest part of the hike was this little canyon made of clay walls. The formation of it was really cool and we had fun hiking down it.
Deaven is a mountain man at heart. He loves being on the trail, leading us out.
Morgan hiked for a good 2 miles, then called it quits. She raises her stick after conquering Daddy.
We all have "Trail Names" now.
Dad: Black Bear
Mom: Cougar (very funny, huh)
Deaven: Legend
Peyton: Scout
Morgan: Tiger Lily

We are hoping to take the kids out for their first BACKPACK trip this weekend. Carrying gear for a family of five on only 3.5 people should be interesting, but we are very excited.
