Random Catch Up

 The other day, when Morgan took her hair out of some pig tails, I told her she looked like a puppy with floppy ears.......so she locked herself into Odie's catch, with Odie.  They fit pretty well in there together, I think.

 We had an FHE on Being Resilient.  We used about 10 different ideas to help teach the kids ways they could practice being resilient (after we taught them what that meant).  One concept was for them to remember that they ALWAYS HAVE A CHOICE of how they will respond to a situation.  To illustrate that, we made milkshakes, where they got to have all kinds of CHOICES on how they wanted theirs to be.

 We also talked about building a strong foundation, with lots of talents and activities in their lives so that they will be well rounded and not caught up in placing all their eggs in one basket.

 We also talked about how resilient people are willing to try new things, so I had bought a fresh, unopened coconut and pomegranate, which my kids hadn't tried.  It was fun for them just seeing how to open these things.

We also watched some videos and talked about having good perspective, thinking positive, learning to work hard, trusting your family and friends for support (we did a trust fall) and then talked about the Asian Bamboo Tree......which I thought was really cool.  Here is a quick quote:
I was recently reminded of how the Asian Bamboo trees grow.  You plant the seed and water it and water it for 5 years, nothing just watering, weeding and waiting.  Then is a span of about six weeks, it grows two and a half feet a day until it reaches 90 feet or higher.  It has been said, “It grows so fast, you can actually hear it grow.”  For all those years the growth was barely visible, then wow.  What if the gardener gave up after a month, a year, two years etc.?  The Bamboo tree was taking it’s time developing a massive root system that later would support its magnificent growth. It takes time to get rooted.  It is said that as tall as a tree is above the ground is a deep as its root go beneath the ground.  How often we give up just before we are about to achieve success?

 My sweet Bonnie had her little precious Cannon on Friday night.  I got to hold him only 2 hours after the birth and he was the sweetest thing, with the softness cheeks.  So fun.

 Bonnie was amazing and as always, is an incredible mother.  Congrats to the Kramer's!
