Big Changes!!

Well, it's so hard for me to believe, but Morgan is turning 3 this week. Don't you love the outfit she picked out above? The socks are an especially nice touch.

Knowing that Morgan will be our last, makes me ache with dredge when I see her grow. NOT that I want any more kids, but simply knowing that part of my life....having a baby around.....is coming to an end.

Morgan has been our intense child. Crazy silly and fun, loving and wonderful, and then can also bring on the DRAMA to the hilt. She is petite in size, but mighty in spirit, and lately, we just can't get enough of what she has to say. It's constant, unintentional humor. Like on Christmas Eve when we were having a some-what serious conversation about the Savior, and she stood up, stuck her finger out at all of us and said, "Yummy boogers"!

I remember so significantly when Morgan was about 2 weeks old. I was sitting on the couch just holding and looking at her, and I started to panic. I remembering freaking out that my family was just running around playing, watching TV and here Morgan was growing and changing (I'm sure by the second) and I wanted everyone to stop and just look at her.

Because I knew Morgan was our last child, I decided from the moment she was born to keep a journal of all the little, tiny things that I LOVED about having a newborn. Well, as my children moved through different stages, I realized that there were things I'd miss about EVERY stage of my kid's ever-changing lives, bodies and personalities.

So......here is my life from the last year. Of course, many are specific to my kids, but I think most you can relate to. It's amazing how alike little kids really are. Sorry for the formatting distractions, but I can't take the time to fix the "cut and paste" issues.

Hope you enjoy~

What I will miss about a 2 year old:
I will miss how the same act, same motion, same game,

can make a two year old laugh for hours.

I will miss looking at them in my rear view mirror while I’m driving.

I will miss them being in my arms as we dance to crazy fun music.

I will miss that “Ready, Set, Go!” can be all the encouragement they need.

I will miss knowing every single square inch of their body.

Every soft line of their arms and legs

and the exact curve of their cheeks.

I will miss my two year old repeating phrases back to me that they have probably heard a thousand times in their life. “Hold on tight” “Good try Mommy” “

I will miss that if they escape during a clothing change, they run away naked and giggling, as if they have just escaped from jail.

I will miss when they come up jabbering something your are trying decipher, if you say to them, “Oh-do you want a snack”, they say “OK!” as if it was your idea the whole time.

I will miss feeding a toy through a 5 point harness car seat because they simply cannot trust enough to let go of it for even a second.

I will miss having them repeat all kinds of normal words that just sound so cute from a toddler, like mexican, crazy, oh-man, etc.

I will miss how my children think that if they put a blanket over their head, I can’t see them. “Oh no! Where’s Morgan?!”

I will miss hearing my child say “Jesus”! as they start to recognize Him in

pictures in our home.

I will miss the clanking on the kitchen floor when my child puts on dress up shoes.

I will miss hearing the constant “Mmmm” sound coming from my child as she eats something good.

I will miss that offering a sucker or a fruit snack can be as exciting as if we offered to take them to Disneyland.

I will miss my daughter offering to share her half eater, slobbered on soggy cracker with me.

I will miss seeing my baby sung to sleep by her big sister.

I will miss how my children will break into a impromptu dance if they are really excited about something, like a popsicle.

I will miss how my daughter will get on a roll of saying “Yes” to everything.

Do you want to go see the new Disney movie at the theater? Yes.

Do you want to get some popcorn? Yes.

Are you excited? Yes.

Have you already seen this movie? Yes.

Did you go with some friends? Yes.

Was it good? Yes.

I will miss how excited my kids are to go on errands. Especially “Shopping Girls”.

I will miss seeing my little one proudly put on her shoes backwards.

I will miss how absolutely every body part looks edible, but especially their thighs.

I love that you keep that journal. I wish I had taken the time to do that especially since our last one is almost 5. Keep up that journaling you will cherish it I'm sure.

Happy 3rd Birthday, Morgan! I can't believe 3 is already here. That was far too quick. Thanks for the list of things you'll miss. I'm right there with you...
