Tuesday was Morgan's 2nd birthday and we had a great day. She was somewhat unaware of what was really going on, but definitely enjoyed waking up to her bedroom packed full of balloons.....a family birthday tradition.
We had a little get together with just a few people that are our local "family". Here, Dea Marshall is pulling out all the stops and l-i-c-k-i-n-g the mashed potato bowl. A girl after my own heart. That is why she is listed under "family".
Okay, don't laugh, but this is the first time I have actually baked a cake from scratch. Yep, my grandma died laughing too. In the day in age where you can buy a cake to feed 50 that is AMAZING at Costco for $12.99, WHY would you bake one? But, I decided is was worth the risk so we wouldn't have 5 lbs of cake leftover. It was Chocolate Peanut Butter, with cream cheese frosting. Good, but won't make it again.
Morgan has been cracking us up in her car seat lately. Just singing, counting all the things outside the window, and our FAVORITE.....she has single-handedly built a three month supply of food storage IN her car seat for us. Nice.
You know you've got good friends when they bring PINK AND PURPLE DUCT TAPE to your child's birthday party!! Okay, it was technically from their two year old, but we know who planted that seed.
Morgan and her good friend Carlee. They had a few hair pulling, cat scratching fights during the party, but nothing out of the ordinary! :)
This is Morgan's outfit of choice......naked with a backwards pink baseball cap. She can be found OFTEN in this little number.
My sweet Bonnie with the birthday girl. Love you Bon!
Morgan wouldn't TOUCH the cake (and she wouldn't have if it was Coscto either.....I swear!), but licking the number 2; now that's where it's at!! I even offered her chocolate pudding......not interested. Luckily, her duct tape buddy also brought her Oreo's.
Oh, our little Morgie. She has changed this family forever. She makes us laugh so much! She is a lover and such a comedian. She has to be the CLEANEST kid there ever was with all the toothpaste and deodorant that she ingests. We simply can not imagine life with out her precious little soul. We love you Morgan, forever!

I don't get carded as much anymore when sitting in an area at a restaurant where you have to 21.:( so I must be loosing some of it.
Mike and I went on one date in H.S. He says that I thought he was a dork ( at the time that is what I thought). He went on his mission and wrote me several generic missionary letters. When he was about 3 months from coming home I felt prompted to write him back without the same generic letter I had been sending him for almost 2 years. Right before he came home we were writing once a week. He asked me out the day after he came home. We were engaged with-in a month and married exactly six months from the day he came home from his mission. So you could say that God stepped in and made me see what a great guy was right in front of me. 10 years later, 3 kids, I'm definitely glad I listened! :)
Cute pictures....I'm really impressed with the cake! All my cakes come from a box. Boxed cakes are delicious, and oh so easy to make. So, why take all the extra time and work to make one from scratch?
Looks like Morgan had a great birthday. She is so cute. I love the backward hat. I am sure the Duct tape will come in handy at some point. I know Mark had the young men make Duct tape ties once. Morgan could make Will one. :)
